Dear customers and partners, dear Spacemaker supporters and enthusiasts,
Calling 2020 a most unusual year is a vast understatement. When we started out in January, it was not foreseeable how much the world would be turned upside down within just a few months.
For Spacemaker, the beginning of the Covid19 pandemic created as much uncertainty as it did for everyone else, and just like everyone else we had to adapt swiftly to the new normal. We are now closing the year under vastly different circumstances than we started, and they are vastly more optimistic than we would have expected.
It was impressive to see how swiftly the entire Spacemaker team took to working remotely r and continued pushing out feature after feature at rapid-fire speed. 45 in total, which Carl has reflected upon in his own blog. Over the course of the year, we have turned Spacemaker into the remote working tool that it is today. When the world locked down, collaborative, fully cloud-based platform became essential to keeping architects and developers in business. Our users were able to seamlessly continue working on their projects and making decisions as a team from the safety of their own homes, without the need to be physically present in a meeting room.
We also entered three new markets, France, Finland and Denmark, opened new offices in Stockholm, Helsinki and Paris, almost tripled our customer base, and were acquired by Autodesk, the largest and most credible software provider in our industry - globally.
These are remarkable achievements under normal circumstances, but under the lens of 2020, it is simply outstanding. We couldn't finish this year prouder and more grateful.
All this would not have been possible without our incredible customers and partners, many of which can be counted among the most digitally forward-thinking businesses in the AEC space. Thank you for being part of the Spacemaker journey in 2020, for your unwavering belief in our solution, and for pushing the digitalisation of our industry forward despite or even because of the challenges that 2020 brought upon the world. It is a true pleasure working together with you, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration in 2021.
On behalf of the entire Spacemaker team, I wish you, your families and your friends happy, safe and joyful holidays,
PS: Our team has been working closely with Santa and his elves this winter. After months of coordination with Santa’s Lapland HQ, and dozens of trips back and forth courtesy of Rudolph, we’re pleased to introduce Santa Analysis to the Spacemaker platform.
If you are a user, login to your workspace and turn your site into a Winter Wonderland, you can find the Santa analysis within our Analysis feature. If you are not yet a user but would like to give Spacemaker a try, including the Santa analysis, feel free to request a trial here.
